About Kathryn Trivette

Kathryn’s passion for education is deeply woven into both her personal and professional journey. A graduate of Carson-Newman University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications and minors in Marketing and Biblical Studies, she has always been drawn to the power of words, ideas, and meaningful connections.

Her love for teaching first took root in 2004 as a substitute teacher, but it truly flourished in 2010 when she began homeschooling her own children. As a mother of seven, Kathryn has embraced the beauty and challenge of home education, shaping young hearts and minds with patience, perseverance, and a steadfast spirit. With her oldest set to graduate in 2025 and her youngest just beginning pre-K, she finds herself entering a new season—one where the Lord is renewing her strength and passion for the journey ahead.

Kathryn’s commitment to classical education and the Charlotte Mason philosophy stems from a deep desire to cultivate a love of learning that extends far beyond the classroom. She believes in fostering strong thinking skills and engaging with the great ideas of history through literature, all while anchoring students in a biblical worldview. Her heart is set on creating an environment where students not only gain knowledge but develop wisdom, virtue, and a lifelong love of learning.

When she’s not teaching, Kathryn finds her greatest joy in nature. Whether answering the call of the lake, water skiing as she did in childhood summers at her family’s cottage in Canada, or simply enjoying the beauty of creation, she feels most at peace outdoors. She also cherishes the warmth of family mealtimes, where cooking and baking bring her loved ones together around the table for food, laughter, and connection.

Scripture has been the foundation of Kathryn’s journey. Psalm 139:23-24, “Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!” has shaped her as a person, calling her to a life of humility and faith. In the realm of home education, Galatians 6:9 has sustained her: “Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” These words serve as a guiding light, reminding her of the lasting impact of perseverance, both in the classroom and in the hearts of the next generation.
