Home Economics Teacher
With a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Rachel is currently pursuing certification in Biblical counseling, driven by her belief that Scripture is God-breathed and sufficient for molding hearts and minds to align with the will of the Father.
Rachel’s professional journey reflects her well-rounded upbringing. As a child, her love for the outdoors contrasted with her mother’s insistence on mastering domestic skills, which Rachel now cherishes and uses daily. Alongside her husband and son, Rachel homesteads—raising animals, maintaining a large garden, and preserving food. Her passion for cooking and crafting has extended to teaching cooking classes, hosting wine and pasta events, and starting a catering business.
Although new to Classical education, Rachel’s work with Aletheia has deepened her appreciation for its Christ-centered approach to learning. She was drawn to Aletheia by the opportunity to teach Home Economics, a long-held dream. For Rachel, instilling Gospel truth in children is paramount, with academic education serving as a complement to the wisdom found in knowing God.
In her personal life, Rachel finds joy in hosting others, creating delicious meals, quilting, and exploring new cultures. Raised on a reservation and with family ties in Alaska, she loves traveling, fishing, and immersing herself in nature. She also enjoys movie nights with her family and cherishes moments of connection through shared experiences.
Rachel’s favorite scriptures reflect her faith journey, offering hope, encouragement, and a deeper understanding of God’s promises. Philippians 1:6 reassures her of God’s ongoing work, while the story of Ruth inspires her with its depiction of redemption. The Psalms and the entirety of Scripture remind her of God’s sovereignty, creativity, and love, always pointing her back to Christ.
