About Kendra Aylor

Kendra brings a rich blend of academic expertise, creative expression, and Christ-centered leadership to her work at Aletheia. She holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Longwood University and a Bachelor’s degree from William and Mary, along with additional coursework in the math specialist program at the University of Virginia. Her educational background reflects both depth and versatility, equipping her to thoughtfully support students across a wide range of learning needs and disciplines.

Kendra began her professional journey as a preschool teacher before serving as a Music Specialist from 2002 to 2010, during which she nurtured students’ love of music and guided them in developing and sharing their musical gifts. Her career has included a wide variety of roles, including afterschool program supervisor, summer school principal, interventionist, and special education and classroom teaching assistant. In each setting, she worked closely with educational professionals to support students—particularly those with special needs—by providing structure, collaboration, and compassionate instruction. She is an intermediate Spanish speaker and conversational in American Sign Language, further reflecting her commitment to communication and accessibility. After 2010, Kendra was called into children’s ministry, serving as a director, and more recently, she has worked as a Clinical Coach at the University of Virginia, mentoring and instructing student teachers as they step into the teaching profession.

Kendra deeply values Classical and Charlotte Mason–inspired education for its emphasis on cultivating critical thinking, logical reasoning, and effective communication. This approach aligns closely with her desire to help students grow not only academically, but also in their walk with Christ. Her classroom is intentionally rooted in respect, compassion, and collaboration, grounded in biblical truth. She believes God is evident in every subject area and delights in helping students see meaningful connections across disciplines—connections that foster deeper understanding, problem-solving skills, and an awareness of God’s wisdom woven throughout all learning.

Outside the classroom, Kendra enjoys reading, cooking, learning new languages, taking walks, and engaging in both listening to and making music. She also loves watercolor painting, traveling to new places near and far, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Kendra’s life and teaching are anchored in the truth of Ephesians 2:4–5, “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ – by grace you have been saved.” This truth shapes the decisions she makes each day in teaching, leadership, parenting, and marriage, and it is her heartfelt desire that her students learn to live confidently in that same grace—knowing they are fully loved and made alive in Christ.
