Logic Humanities and Biology Teacher
Rebeca brings a thoughtful blend of academic training, global experience, and a deep love for language and truth to her role at Aletheia United Academy. She holds an Associate of Science degree from Wytheville Community College, a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language from Liberty University, and a minor in Bible. Her educational background reflects both a passion for communication and a firm grounding in Scripture.
During her undergraduate studies, Rebeca completed a teaching internship at a high school in Szeged, Hungary—an experience that broadened her cultural perspective and strengthened her love for language and learning. After graduation, she served for two years as an international academic advisor at a K–12 Christian distance-learning school. For the past decade, Rebeca has faithfully homeschooled her three children, gaining firsthand experience in individualized instruction and student formation. During this season, she also served as a substitute teacher at a hybrid school for two years before stepping into a science teaching role. She began teaching at Aletheia United Academy in 2025 and is grateful to partner with a community committed to both academic excellence and spiritual growth.
Rebeca values Classical, Charlotte Mason–inspired education for its emphasis on forming students who think clearly, live virtuously, and communicate with wisdom and grace. She appreciates how classical education draws from time-tested works and methods to cultivate discernment, critical thinking, and a genuine love for truth. These tools are essential for equipping students to articulate and defend their faith in an increasingly skeptical world. By helping students recognize fallacies and defend truth with clarity and compassion, Rebeca seeks to prepare them to engage others thoughtfully and represent the Gospel faithfully. Aletheia’s vision of nurturing humble, excellent students who desire to use their education for the glory of God and the advancement of His Kingdom is what most inspired her to join the academy.
Outside the classroom, Rebeca delights in language and storytelling in all their forms. Eloquent books, powerful music, moving films, elegant poetry, engaging conversations, and even the sounds of foreign languages bring her great joy. She also loves observing God’s design in creation—from the intricate workings of the human brain to breathtaking sunsets that reflect His splendor. Hiking, kayaking, traveling with her family, and tackling logic puzzles or escape rooms are among her favorite pastimes.
One of Rebeca’s most cherished passages of Scripture is John 16:33 when Jesus says, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” This verse continually fills her with hope and strength, anchoring her heart in Christ’s peace even amid the challenges of a broken world.
