About David Varghese

David Varghese is passionate about helping students encounter the majesty of God and respond with reverence, wonder, and deeper contemplation of the Triune God. His academic background reflects a wide-ranging interest in both the world and the Word. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Global Development Studies from the University of Virginia, a Master of Public Health from Imperial College London, and a Master of Divinity from The Master’s Seminary. He is currently pursuing a Master of Theology in theological studies at Reformed Theological Seminary.

Through his study, teaching, and writing, David has become especially interested in education that forms a person from the inside out. He appreciates Aletheia’s commitment to more than transferring information. For David, classical Christian education invites students to consider what is true, good, and beautiful in light of the presence and work of the Triune God. He hopes students will grow in their understanding of God and be moved to worship Him with both their minds and their lives.

David’s life outside the classroom offers many opportunities for work, study, and fellowship. He works at Chick-fil-A and participates in a Saturday morning Bible study there, where the group is working through the Gospel of Luke. Members of the Aletheia community are welcome to join them. He also enjoys staying in touch with his younger brother, Peter, and pursuing theological studies that continually deepen his humility and wonder at how much he still has to learn.

Two passages particularly shape David’s perspective: Psalm 119:71, which speaks of learning God’s statutes through affliction, and the Book of Jonah, whose brief narrative reveals the astonishing patience, grace, and sovereignty of God. Both remind him that genuine wisdom begins with humility before a God whose majesty far surpasses our understanding.
