About Jennifer Stokes

Jen holds a Bachelor of Music from James Madison University (2000) and completed her elementary education teaching certification program at Mary Baldwin. Her diverse career has spanned roles in education, arts administration, church leadership, and travel advising, each reflecting her passion for organization, creativity, and connection.

Jen’s teaching journey began at Hale Kula Elementary in Hawaii, where she taught 5th grade and music from 2002 to 2005. Her career then shifted to arts administration as she served as the Administrative Assistant for Ash Lawn Opera, managing marketing, grant writing, and donor relations. Later, she joined Portico Church as the Director of Administration & Communications, where she further developed her leadership and organizational skills. Currently, she also works as a Travel Advisor with Looking Glass Travel, specializing in Disney and Universal vacations.

Jen’s love for classical education began with homeschooling her oldest daughter in the second grade, combining classical tradition with Charlotte Mason resources. While homeschooling has provided her family with valuable time together, Jen was drawn to Aletheia’s hybrid model for its blend of expertise, accountability, and community.

When she’s not teaching or planning vacations, Jen enjoys spending time with her family and finding joy in planning magical trips for others.

Her favorite scripture, Isaiah 26:3, reflects her aspiration to trust deeply in the Lord: “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is fixed on you, because he trusts in you.” For Jen, this verse represents the peace she continually seeks through faith.
