About Lauren Griffith

Lauren is a Texas native with a heart for education and discipleship. She began her journey in Early Childhood Education before moving to North Carolina, where she played a pivotal role in leading an Afterschool Reading Program for the YMCA and served as an assistant teacher in a Kindergarten classroom. Her passion for nurturing young minds led her to step into the role of homeschooling her own children when her family moved to Virginia.

Lauren and her husband, Russ, along with their three children, relocated to Charlottesville to help establish Center Church. As an elder’s wife, Lauren has been instrumental in creating a close-knit community within the church, bringing her natural gift for connection and discipleship to life.

Driven by her love of literature and a desire to inspire a joy of learning in her children, Lauren embraced the Classical Charlotte Mason educational philosophy. This approach has allowed her to strike a beautiful balance between high expectations and the delight of discovering the beauty of God’s world. She considers it a blessing to be part of Aletheia, partnering with like-minded teachers and parents to provide a strong Christian education for their children.

When Lauren isn’t immersed in a good book, you can find her spending time with friends or exploring the outdoors with her family at local Charlottesville favorites. She carries the verse, “Those who sow in tears will reap with shouts of joy” (Psalm 126:5), as a reminder of the meaningful labor of homeschooling and discipling her children. It’s her joy to invest deeply in their growth, trusting that the seeds sown today will bear fruit in lives lived boldly for Christ.
