Grammar Level Music
Rachel Ferrell brings a lifelong love of music and extensive teaching experience to Aletheia United Academy. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and a Master of Education in Teaching English as a Second Language. Music has been part of her life since childhood; she has played violin and piano since age four.
For more than eight years, Rachel has taught orchestra, choir, and general music in public schools, co-ops, and private lessons. Her experience has given her a broad appreciation for the many ways students can discover, develop, and express their musical gifts.
Rachel is drawn to Aletheia’s Christ-centered hybrid model because it offers both flexibility and a robust educational experience. She also appreciates the Charlotte Mason philosophy, particularly its emphasis on biblically sound, developmentally appropriate education filled with joy and vitality. She sees music and education as opportunities to cultivate wonder, nurture growth, and help children flourish within a community shaped by faith.
Outside the classroom, Rachel enjoys gardening, raising and educating her children at home, caring for her family, and serving in her church. These everyday responsibilities and joys are an important part of her life and faith.
Psalm 16:6 captures Rachel’s gratitude for God’s faithfulness: “The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.” Through both beautiful and difficult seasons, she has seen the Lord’s goodness and steadfast love. She is grateful for the abundant life found in Him and seeks to reflect that gratitude in the way she teaches and serves others.
